Among Friends: One of My First Digital Pieces
I wanted to share a look back at one of the first digital pieces I ever created.
Pop culture is absolutely flooded with male vampires — you see them everywhere. I really wanted to bring another female vampire into existence, but I didn't want her to feel like a cliché. Instead of the usual brooding or upright poses, I thought it would be fun to flip things around — literally — and have her hanging upside down like a bat. Because I was brand new to digital painting when I made this, I was just having fun playing around with textures, the ornate damask background, and that striking contrast between her pale skin and the rich, dramatic reds.
Looking back, it's wild to see how far my style has come, but this one will always be special to me because it was the moment I realized just how much freedom digital art gives you to bring your imaginations to life.
